FAMIT has more than sixty years of experience in the production of
turned components for industry, a journey that began in Milan in 1960 as a small craft business specializing in the production of turned small parts. The first production runs were for the last Italian company that, at the time, manufactured wristwatch cases—an industry in which precision and care for small components were essential. This experience gave rise to one of the principles that still defines FAMIT today: attention to detail at every stage of the production chain. Over the years, the company has grown through continuous development and modernization of its equipment, focused on improving production flexibility and efficiency. Its turning expertise is now combined with modern CNC technologies, enabling it to meet different production and dimensional requirements. We have operated successfully since 1960 and can produce batches of 100 to more than 1 million pieces per month for a wide range of industries:

We guarantee all types of heat treatment (quenching and tempering, induction hardening, vacuum hardening, carburizing and nitriding) and plating (rack and barrel), through a network of highly specialized suppliers with whom we have built long-standing relationships.
Turned Components for Industry with CNC Technology
The production of turned components for industry takes place at FAMIT’s facility in Carbonate, in the province of Como. The plant covers a total area of 3,500 sq m, 2,000 of which are covered, and houses a machine fleet that has been completely renewed in recent years. The company has replaced all its former cam-operated machines, choosing to rely exclusively on CNC sliding-headstock and fixed-headstock automatic lathes. The machine fleet includes solutions from 4 to 10 axes and can machine diameters from 2 to 65 mm. This technological setup enables the production of components with different dimensional characteristics and allows the manufacturing process to be adapted to the specific requirements of each component. CNC technology also makes it possible to focus on precision, repeatability, flexibility and efficiency—key factors in managing industrial production. The ongoing modernization of the equipment therefore represents the natural evolution of a journey that began more than sixty years ago, in which turning expertise and attention to every detail continue to complement technological innovation.

The availability of 4- to 10-axis sliding-headstock and fixed-headstock machines makes it possible to handle different types of production across a diameter range of 2 to 65 mm.
