FAMIT was established in Milan in 1960 as a small crafts-work firm producing small turned metal parts for the only Italian company that, at the time, used to build wristwatch cases; this fact is very important, because it identifies a trait that has always been typical of the company's character and that still represents the heart of its product policy: attention to detail, even the smallest and tiniest, no matter which production line level it relates to.

The company's growth has been constant, with a steady increase and an upgrade of the production capacity carried out year after year, up to the current situation, where FAMIT has a rolling stock of 48 Single-spindle Automatic turning machines, Sliding-head and Turret, Cam and CNC Lathes, extending over an area of ​​4,000 square meters, of which an area of 2,000 sq. m. is covered by the current headquarters of Carbonate.

FAMIT now produces over 40 million components every year, divided into hundreds of different typologies in terms of dimensions and quantities, varying from 500 pieces per lot to more than 1,000,00 pieces per month.

FAMIT avails itself of a number of companies for the certified execution of thermal and galvanic treatments, so as to be able to satisfy the most complex and articulated demands. The raw materials include the whole range of materials workable by removal, from high-speed steel (HSS) to tempered and hardened steel (ST 329-18 NiCrMo5 - 16 CrNi4 etc.) up to stainless steel (AISI 303 - 304 - 316 - 430 etc.), plus, of course, brass and aluminium alloys.

The flexibility of our system allows us to meet the demands of customers including special packaging of products for protection of individual parts, if necessary.
